School of Education (SoE) is one of the five schools of studies at NSOU, established in the year 2013 to provide quality degree programmes/courses on Education, Teacher Education and Special Education. It stems into two academic Departments, viz., Department of Education & Department of Special Education.

+ What is CDSER?

The Centre for Disability Studies & Educational Research (CDSER) is the innovative centre established under the countenance of SoE in the year 2018 to conduct short-term courses (self-financed), extension programmes and community outreach activities.

+ What are the aims & objectives of CDSER?

To provide adequate professional training, orientation and capacity building to the learners for taking up responsibility in the field of Education, Special Education, Inclusive Education and Research for an inclusive society. Also organising online/offline Seminars, Conferences, Workshops, other extension activities etc.

+ Is this One-Year Diploma course synonymous to PG Diploma?

No.

+ What is the nature of this One Year Diploma in Inclusive Education?

It is a Value Added Course.

+ What are the benefits of pursuing this course?

This course will enhance professional capacities in the field and capacitate employability skills.

+ What is the mode of transaction of this course?

Blended.

+ Is it a regular course?

No. It is an Open & Distance Learning (ODL) course and adheres to the regulations and guidelines of the university.

+ Is it a semester system programme?

Yes, two semesters; each semester has a 6 month duration.

+ Is this course meant for special educators only?

No. It is open to anyone aspiring to pursue.

+ Is it equivalent to RCI approved diploma courses?

No. It is a value added course.

+ Is it recognised by NCTE?

No.

+ Is there any special weightage in admission for candidates having RCI approved degrees/diplomas?

No.

+ What is the course fee?

Rs. 5, 500/- (Course fee- Rs. 5, 000/-+ Admission Processing fee- Rs. 500/-).

+ What is the eligibility criterion?

Any Graduate (under 10+2+3 system).

+ Is there any age limit for this course?

No.

+ What are the curricular components?

The course strikes a balance between theory and practicum and provides a good blend of online and face-to-face transactions to justify the curricular requirements.

Yes, It is a 16 credit course.

+ Is there any seat reservation?

No.

+ Where are the offline classes/activities held?

The offline classes/activities are held at SoE, Salt Lake Campus, 2nd floor, C.F. 162, Sec-1, Salt Lake City, Kolkata-700064. This is also the official corresponding address of SoE & CDSER.
