About the Centre:
The Centre for Propagation of Scientific Knowledge (for short CPSK), under the aegis of the School of Sciences (SoSci), Netaji Subhas Open University (NSOU), is a center to study, accumulate and disseminate the scientific knowledge and understanding to the society connecting all the academic departments of the School of Sciences established in July, 2022. CPSK shall undertake to disseminate scientific knowledge by stimulating and supporting scientific interactions and communications between the faculties and different interested stakeholders through workshops and seminars, short-term courses, collaborative programs, discipline-specific and multi-disciplinary researches, presentations and publications in different forms. CPSK will function according to the guidelines set under the aegis of SoSci, adhering to the University's general rules laid down from time to time.
Vision of the Centre:
The vision of CPSK is to engage persons of all fields and irrespective of ages in science. In particular, the Centre envisions to enable students to cultivate and enrich science education, research, innovation, and communication. CPSK will work towards promoting science and technology within the jurisdiction of the University and developing human resource leading to strengthening their scientific capability. Through various programmes and activities, CPSK aspires to contribute to society by training learners, academics, working professionals and other interested persons to widen their knowledge and skills suitable for their careers. The motto of CPSK is to train the human resources to make them eligible for professional scientific skills along with propagation of knowledge. The Centre will also promote fundamental and inter-disciplinary research.
Objectives/Mission of the Centre:
To popularise and cater information and knowledge in science and technology for the benefit of learners / persons of all fields and irrespective of ages.
To portray the growth of science and technology and their application in the environment, industry, and human welfare.
To develop a scientific attitude and temper and to create, instill and sustain a general awareness amongst the people.
To impart valuable skills that prepare students for careers and professional advancements in various areas, including academia.
To empower the teacher community to effectively apply modern scientific knowledge in their classroom teachings.
To promote research, innovation and publication in scientific fields.
To provide infrastructure and learning resources required for quality education and research activities.

Functions of the Centre:
The CPSK will organise short-term training courses, certificate and diploma programmes, workshops, seminars, publications etc. The preferable duration of the programmes may be six to twelve months.
CPSK will act as a platform for interdisciplinary programmes.
All the courses / programmes / activities, as aforesaid, shall be self-financed in all regards.
The duly constituted Evaluation Committee of CPSK will assess the training / orientation/ certificate/ diploma course.
CPSK will offer its programmes through online, offline, or blended modes as deemed preferable. Keeping in mind knowledge-based learning, CPSK will make the various training and course materials available through OER repositories.
To promote scientific research and innovation, the CPSK will publish books (edited volumes), periodicals, and bulletins in print and/or electronic media.
The CPSK may promote collaborative partnerships with HEIs and private enterprises (PPP model) as per norms.
