Title of the Course:Supply Chain Management
Duration: 8 Weeks (work load 10 hours per week)

Anyone can participate in this course. An internet connection and basic web-browsing skills are recommended (self-study tutorials to be provided.)
Course Objectives:
After successful completion of the MOOC, one should have a clear idea on the supply chainmanagement or logistics management. The course will help in

Understanding the concept of supply chain in the eco system
Understanding supply chain analytics
Value added service in logistics-domestic and international segment
Course Content
Week-01 Module 1: Concept of Logistics: Objectives and Concept of Logistics, Evolution of Logistics, Types of logistics, Concept of Logistics Management, Role of Logistics in an Economy, Logistics and Competitive Advantage, Logistics Mix, Logistics in Organised Retail in India, project logistics.
Week-02 Module 2: Supply Chain Management: Objectives and Concept of Supply Chain Management (SCM), Functions and Contribution of Supply Chain Management, Framework for Supply Chain Solution, Supply Chain Relationships, Building a long-term relationship with vendors, Supplier relationship management (SRM). Difference between Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
Week-03 Module 3: Material Storage System: Objectives and Concept of Material Storage System, Unit Load Storage, Storage principles, Storage design and its benefits, Storage Methods.
Module 4: Warehousing: Objectives and Concept of Warehousing, Need for warehousing management, Evolution of warehousing, Functions of Warehouses, Types of Warehouses, Warehousing Cost, Warehousing Strategies, Significance of Warehousing in Logistics, Warehousing Management System (WMS).
Week-04 Module 5: Logistical Packaging: Objectives and Concept, importance in land segment of Logistical Packaging, Design Consideration in Packaging, Types of Packaging Material, Packaging Costs.
Week-05 Module 6: Transportation: Objectives and Transportation System, Transportation Infrastructure, Different Modes of Transportation, Freight Management, Factors Affecting Freight Cost, Transportation Network, Containerisation; multimodal transport system.
Week-06 Module 7: Customer Service: Objectives and Concept of Customer Service, Attributes of customer service, Different phases of customer services, Customer Service for Competitiveness, Value-Added Logistical Service.
Week-07 Module 8: E-Commerce Logistics: Objectives and Concept of E-Commerce, Requirements of Logistics in E-Commerce, E-Logistics Structure and Operation, Logistic Resource Management (LRM).

Assessment
Fees:
Registration Fees of Rs. 500/- are required to pay at the time of registration/admission and those who will opt for a Certificate of Completion are required to pay Rs. 800/- for evaluation, assessment, and certificate before examination. (Payment to be made online only).
Certificate of Completion:
Requires 70% in the final assessment, and participation in at least 5 discussion forums.
Certificate will be issued by the Centre for Lifelong Learning (CLL) under the aegis of School of Vocational Studies, Netaji Subhas Open University.
